of course some arching could be alright its just not the proper way to bench and could lead to injury tho i see why some do it to have higher personal bench 1MR


Excessive arching only helps for powerlifting numbers, but no arch at all puts a ton of stress on the shoulders.

You can puff up your chest or have a slight arc to gain a mechanical advantage while still retaining a good range of motion and relieve most of the stress from the shoulders.

Did some bulk and now slowly cutting down. Will post progress in a month or so.

Bit more shoulders and upper chest and you'll be looking like one of those KC models.

Best thing is to create a small arch by retracting and depressing the scapula. Protect your shoulders and keep your back safe.
