Those calves stood out to me right away too. It's like he doesn't even train legs. Oh wait.
He's probably mad because his calves are small
Classic physique might be your class. It's hard because you're maintaining aesthetics and mass, and you have to go back to the Frank Zane days to really see when that was appreciated. So the fitness/physique guys tend to be smaller, and the bodybuilders are way, way bigger. The division between the natural and pro comps seems to be pretty big, and you're sort of stuck in the middle of it. You may surprise yourself and go pretty far. The two gym bros who beat you in this comp have a further distance to go if they want to be winning pros. Olympia classic physique guys are pretty big but the physique or fitness guys (whatever Jeremy Buendia is) aren't very big and you may actually be able to cut/morph into that. I think your frame is a bit bigger and that you're right to set yourself onto classic physique, though.
Have you looked into meeting/being mentored by a pro in clasic physique? It might be a great way to get steered into the right class for you.
if you go to muscle insider (google)
you can see the guys in class B classic physique.
i think i would of won that class if i entered it this weekend.
i have nice quad seperation and hamstrings are decent from the side, just my back is my lacking point.
either way im not worried, 12 months off to just focus and train hard. sounds ideal to me.
i have to weigh in at 192 to even compete in classic physique in my category.
right now im like 215 lmao.
i was probably 200ish for show, maybe slightly under.
