The problem with keto is that people really think it’s magically burning fat. You’re burning dietary fat for energy, not adipose tissue. The diet works the same way as every other diet, calorie balance. The only difference between keto and the other diets is the MASSIVE amounts of fats you introduce to your body. This can and will wreak havoc on your body.

Rather than doing that, just eat a healthy balanced meal.

I found this interesting.
Opinions?

As I said, bias.

And if you REALLY want to dig into the science of “why”, let’s talk about the different affinity of your macro nutrients to turn into adipose tissue. Fats have the highest affinity of metabolizing into adipose tissue, carbs are next, and proteins are last. Ultimately, they’re all very similar, but fats still have to go through way less chemical changes to turn into body fat.

Why do you keep talking about fat?
That was about restricting carbs.

Because restrictive diets are garbage. Where do you recommend getting more caloric intake if you’re completely demonizing carbs? Proteins are a terrible source for ATP and glycogenesis and fats are also a terrible source of energy and a high intake diet can and will result in catastrophic health issues.

Again, a well balanced diet trumps any restrictive diet. Unless the restriction is caloric intake.

E: did you read the article? Or just skim the title? It literally speaks about high fat diets being used for “treatment” in MetS.

It's all in your head.
You can if you think you can.
.

i'm agreeing with this dude. I watch Will Tennyson sometimes and he had a quote "once you're on a cut, you're always going to feel hungry". So I guess everything is in your power of will to not binge eat or eat high calorie stuff :).

15% body fat.
Ketones work better for fuel.
Your brain even works better on them.

Keto kills ur free testosterone. Terrible for a long term diet model. Now for short term fat loss, it can be very useful.

I didn’t say anything about it not working. I said it give you female levels of free testosterone if you do it for too long. I’ve used keto myself to great effect. But only for a few months at a time.

Free testosterone, not total testosterone. Do some research and get a full blood panel and see for yourself
