considering that the brain only needs 20-30g of cho /d and it's a resource sucker keto won't threaten the brain; ketoacidosis is nearly impossible to reach without type I diabetes or some other prevailing disease condition. the energy draw from ketosis is more sustainable which is why most people who do it right actually experience good cognitive results. ketosis is muscle-sparing but on that note intense workout performance in bursts tends to go to the shitter on keto.

the hype about keto in either direction is lame, but if anything, a keto diet is, short-term, a great way to lose weight. people have reversed diabetes by going keto and doing mild exercise.
