315 is the new 225 these days bro.

N1 though Ofcourse mate.

Haha savage but true :D

gz on hitting 225. 315 is the next benchmark. Oh yes I did!

@ 205 in 5v5: what I do w/ 5v5 is to try to fail somewhere either in the middle or toward the end of the sets, and then adjust accordingly. So if I was working with 225, I'd throw in a 230 set somewhere EVERY TIME. I wouldn't wait to get 225 perfect over 5 sets. I have found that works better by getting the body used to a little extra stress. If you go 230x3, I consider that progress. Next session I'd shoot for 230x5. Maybe you're already doing that but I wanted to make sure you're optimizing your 5x5.

So if you get

205x5
205x5
205x4
210x3
205x4

I think that's fine. I don't buy into the whole desperation to hit 5 reps every set. Sometimes, if I feel good, I'll try to really rep out the last set to failure. If I can hit 6, 7, or 8 reps, I may refuse to look at that weight again.

I'm making more of a point about your lifting psychology. It's great to be conservative and to go by the book but in my xp, progress comes faster from testing the waters just enough that you don't drown yourself.

said fuck it and tried my max. don't think its too accurate though. Never looked up the proper way to warm up for it, so i probably put too much stress on myself before attempting. Did 1 set of 5 at 60%, and 3 sets of 5 at 85%, then tried my max. ended up with 235, might have been able to push 240. I'll try a recommended way next time.

235 still feels weak for being at this consistently for about 15 months
