This

particularly after your workout, you should just smash some food.

snacking on fruit is like a "Oh I'll have lunch in an hour but I'm a little hungry now"

LOL

Keep on giving advice :)

Nothing wrong with getting some sugars from fruits after a workout.

Well I've heard the only moments where you can get sugar is right after working out because your body absorbs this sugar ~

Of course it's not wrong, it's just not optimal if you're trying to put on as much lean muscle as you can

SOF!

Great to see somebody determined on changing their lifestyle! I hope you'll make it :)!
There is a Sticky thread where you can post questions. Furthermore, you'll find a lot of information in threads already posted. Keep in mind that everybody is entitled to his/her opinion on d2jsp so you'll probably read contradicting information!
Having your own thread, I can imagine you already notice that everybody is trying to judge you and your routines based on the knowledge they've got. There's nothing wrong with that, but I encourage you to take feedback, whatever it is, and cherry-pick from the ones you can identify with. This process will evolve as you gain more knowledge and experience in the field. By taking feedback (and you're doing this well already!) people are more inclined to help out! And if you then throw it in the dustbin, shh, nobody needs to hear

I'm a physiotherapist myself. Although I have an interest in nutrition, I do not share the same level of experience in this field as many (if not all) the people of this bro-community. However, if you have questions you feel uncomfortable to ask in the sticky or here, please feel free to holler.

Thanks for the heads up guys!

I started working out two months ago almost, and i'm down 6 kilos at the moment (13lbs), getting better abs, besides the fact that when I do push ups, only my arms grow, not my chest but I hope it'll come in time!
I gave up for a whole week, having parties and stuff, but I'm still down in weight, i'm glad!

Calories in vs. calories out : You want to burn more calories than you consume in a 24 hour period
You need to find the number of calories it takes to maintain your current weight and subtract about 15 percent
Decreasing the caloric intake by too much can have a negative effect
Don't drink anything with sugar in it : stick to plain water
You should aim for a higher rep range (10-15 upper body and 15-20 lower body)
Do some form of cardio 3-4 days a week (Doesn't have to be running on a treadmill)

Feel free to PM me with any questions you have down the road.
Good luck to you

carbohydrates arent bad as long as your body uses them regularly. if you sit on the couch all day, you should be consuming fewer carbs
