I would say dont ever use a razor to shave again. If you have genetically patchy spots, but they still grow hair then clean shaving only sets those spots back.

Get a beard trimmer and always trim at the same setting until those spots fill in over time with hair...the hair is probably there it just grows too slowly to ever fill in if you shave clean each time.

Once youve maxed out a shorter length then move up to a longer length, rinse and repeat.
