For the record i also do standard deadlifts, i've hit 405 before in the past and it wasn't to bad.
The reason i choose hexbar in maxing out is i really don't want to get injured as weightlifting doesn't pay my bills, and i only compete with myself as a hobby.
i also like to run alot and have some good 5 mile times as well for the size.
I've yet to see someone get 315 in a year, no doubt its probably possible based on genetics and following a strict strength routine.
The hexbar just seems to distribute the weight more evenly it has its positives and negatives just like the standard deadlift.
i've recently made the switch because for me it feels like i get a better workout because i can maintain better form with heavier weight, thus targeting the right muscles.

wtf? What kind of pygmeplebs are you refering to?
Took me 1 year to reach 440lbs in the deadlift.

I have yet to hit 500 :( sad day... however I weigh in at 158 lbs, and I can lift 455 :D

Barbells are pretty even too. Also i hit 315 within 2 months of deadlifting

Yeah me either, film is so outdated. Its all about that HD now.

Lifting weights is alot like fighting, you say you can until its time to prove yourself.
