Our neurons don't regenerate effectively, connective tissue like cartilage and some ligaments don't regenerate by themselves either. Bone will set by itself but not in any useful way unless fractures are reduced and supported. There are many examples where we need to effect the body for it to recover properly
Alright you got me there, but I would like to think that the majority of those injuries weren't really addressed with evolution because the typical body doesn't usually see the stress that would bring those on. Whereas a contusion, minor sprain, etc would occur and the body can fix those with ease.
People seem to heal just as fast without ice than with ice, so unless you know of a solid study that can prove the benefits of ice in healing, I'll stick to the no ice side.
