Why not do Powerlifting comps

Train 3-4 days a week
Hour or so a day

Its a strength orientation that drove your strongman stuff, similar motivation?

And why is it that when I hit masters you decide to quit?

Also, sorry to hear about that man, glad to hear you caught it early. Cancer took my mother about 2 weeks ago.

Damn that sucks :(

First time I read about this as many others...

Get back in shape, fatty. Imagine how your forearms will look when you manage to lose more bodyfat?

make sure you play with knee angle during your gastroc training. soleus is very active as a locomotor muscle and stabilizer for the body when standing still. gastrocs become more or less engaged depending on the type of movement youre performing, very high specificity.

But isnt soleus activated mainly when the knee is bend,( even slightly) while gastroc is mostly in extension?

unit recruitment in these muscles depends more on task i would say, than knee flexion angle (but also on knee flexion angle). soleus is a postural muscle regardless of knee position because of its high ST fiber composition and fatigue resistance. gastroc is much faster, fatigues easily but produces large twitch amplitudes and has slightly higher firing rates compared to soleus.

get back on the grind mike

im thinking of leaving the aesthetic world and doing some functional strength / endurance. pure man mode beast sorta thing.
we'll see

ill finish this comp and go from there...
if i place high or overall or something that urges me to do a couple more, then maybe ill do that.

Get after it Mike! I haven't been into lifting for the past 3 years or so due to injuries. In about a month when I finish renovations on my new house I'll be bangin the weights in my garage. So if you keep to it, I'll post white belt progress pics
