Looks like you could build up some more tension in lats and hamstrings before you initiate the pull.

Yeah, I gotta get tighter before the lift, gonna get some guys who pull conventional to take a look at it, they have some really good cues usually.

Really good! 2 plate bench is very close, my squat form feels so much better and I've been going to the gym twice a week just working on form, keeping knees out etc, lost ~25lbs on my squat, but knee health > and it'll come back once i adapt

You should do a powerlifting meet!

As for your form you do have to get tighter but it will come with time. Here's the deadlift from my deload (10 days ago). Notice how I pulled the slack out of the bar when bending down and focused on keeping a good position through the mouvement.

Nope but I'll switch in the offseason and do more olympic lifting too. 60 days out. ;)

ooo very nice! I gotta start with my hips way higher, my back is almost parallel when I start pulling the bar off the floor. I heard it does come with time, threw in 12 singles @ 75% for speed and form work once a week.

Hips high and back(most important imo). Back position stays the same until you reach the knees when you accelerate with the lockout. To me conventional deadlift feels like a leg press from the ground and the end is good morning-ish.

Did you re grip between taking the slack out and the pull (I see right hand movement)? Do you normally do that?

Don't need cues, you should have the proprioception at this point to know if your back is rounding or straight

my lower back hurts watching this video

Do you even deadlift bro?

I got a couple questions...
How is it possible to not try conventional earlier?
286 conventional as a "first time"...?
Jesus christ that's impressive.

Have you ever tried hook grip?
