I try to believe that most doctors have your best intentions in their minds, but some are all about money. The MRI alone is gonna cost money. I'd see a regular doctor that can interpret the scans who would then refer you to a surgeon to fix the issue if need be. Then you know it isn't about money.

My right shoulder used to pop, grind, make weird ass noises with normal movement but now it doesn't quite as much but my left shoulder does now. The left doesn't hurt during any exercises and again no stretching causes pain, only when I'm holding heavy weight and it feels like my right shoulder is being pulled out of the socket does it hurt and it's right where my trap meets my shoulders in the front/top area.

Do you supplement omega 3/fish oil? When I am on a good daily regimen and don't forget s few days a week my shoulder seems to not pop/grind as much! Good luck brotha!!

yeah i do osteo biflex, started around 2 months ago

and been doing fish oil for around 1 to 2 years, awhile

went to regular doctor, was free cause school doctor

but then called insurance and made appointment for orthopedic, its under a co pay. id hope the mri would also be co pay, we shall see

ok so.... due to health insurance closest doctor was 70 min away

drove there. waited for 10 min

doctor sees me. asks me about history. after 2 min, he has me stand and move my arm in front over my head. and the side over my head with thumb up. then he moves my arm and asks me to push against his in like 4 different directions. this takes like 2 more min to do.

he then says he thinks its the AC joint thats causing me issues and not my rotator cuff

he holds open door like right after.... i still had questions and was sitting down asking him. he only was with me for like 6 or 7 min.

he said he will schedule and MRI at some place closer to me if possible to see more.

he said prob would suggest scraping some buildup of something or whatever possibly depending on what MRI shows....

any1 know what he was referring to for the surgery part?

i asked if i could still lift, he just said its up to me how i feel.... he said if it hurts to take time off. basic knowledge thanks doc lol....

the movements he had you perform are what any doctor would do. I watched some video when my shoulder started bothering me of a college professor showing med students the same type of things he had you perform. I did them with my friend and had no issues/pain so I just kept lifting. Hasn't gotten any better. sad he didn't have the time to talk about what it meant tho

I'd go in for the MRI. I think calcium builds up as a 'deposit' and they scrape that off. could be wrong tho

A friend of mine damaged his rotator cuff and had to have keyhole surgery. The recovery was 6-12 months (I can't remember)

He lost 25kg and became depressed.

Good luck on your journey friend

These calcium deposits that your doctor referred to is called "Calcific Tendonitis". It's still too soon to tell, until you get a more detailed reading, this is why the doctor didn't spend much time with you initially.

There's no definite cause to this, but it's been argued that it's from delayed healing and that your injuries kept getting re-injured because you were continuing the activity (remember from post#11?).

Your next step is to get the MRI, then see and have the results analyzed. Beyond that, you might need an x-ray also, since calcium deposits can be seen through that.

Then your doctor will advise further on what to do next.

yeah i didnt get much pain from it, any different than normal activity

i get the pain after i stop pushing or doing anything with my arm

except some things cause alot of pain, like raising my arm sometimes, and often when turning the car wheel with my injured shoulder arm, towards the right (eh bad sentence lol)
