exactly. dmitri koklov fucking btn pressing from his traps all that weight haha. i really think people exaggerate the exercise making it to be the devil. just do it right, form first, with a weight u can handle. i can press from my traps no problem but i dont go that far and it actually improved my shoulder mobility during squats. i can get my hands in closer

Topic was discussed with an older generation of lifters in the gym I frequent. They frowned when I mentioned the exercise was not taught and is typically alienated in modern "fitness".

Fact of the matter is, if you're a new lifter with bad posture and that hunchback forward hulking shoulder syndrome from too much gaming and whatnot, it's bad.

If you manage to posture up, doing the exercises in the right way and loosen yourself up, the workout is golden.

It's all about shoulder placement.

You shouldn't see any real development in the chest since pectoralis can't really contribute to shoulder flexion past 90 degrees and the vast majority of the movement occurs past that
