been working with 135-145 lbs (not too sure if thats considered heavy? my front ohp was alot more) and its comfortable for 5-6 clean reps for 4-5 sets then after that ill drop it to about 95 lbs for 3-4 sets of 8-10. anything above that im not comfortable with yet. whats a solid behind the neck press weight? after my presses tho ill finish up with 2-3 light sets of 15-20 rep rear delt, side delt raises and front raises and thats about the extent of my shoulder workout. feel like i hit everything fine and im pretty shot aftewards

Id listen to Harumi he is bulking up lately and is finally at a good size of 140lbs at 6'6

im more interested in finding out if the exercise is ACTUALLY bad for u. any exercise done improperly can, but no matter where u look, some say yes and some say no. whats the ultimate answer?

Probably no good evidence on this because who's going to risk people's health for finding out if something is bad or not when logically one would assume it to be a dangerous exercise..

There's many exercises, just press from the front. Why risk it? Any better gains from behind the neck press will be insignificant.

why would it be logical to assume its bad if you have the mobility and it feels natural with no pain or discomfort?

Forces your cspine into flexion while you're trying to generate power, not a good place to be tbh

They only issue is that if you have inflexibility it puts you in a bad place according to this website.

trying to hard to go against the grain bro
it's an exercise I've never seen anyone in the fitness industry who's worth mentioning ever do or try. probably for a solid reason.

stick to what's known to be effective, and have a very minimal injury risk.

wether it feels natural or not, why risk it for what? literally nothing you can't get from regular ohp

Not worth the shortcut, never is when it comes to form / exercises / weight.
