It may let you get a couple extra reps once it has built up in your system, but it's not a stimulant so it won't be giving you much, if at all, any "energy." May have taken that out of context since I read it after pre-workout.

It isn't a stimulant but it deals with ATP production. It's been a while since I had a&p 1 when I learned about it so I can't go more in depth than that atm but that's what it does. I even remember the pic in the book of a sprinter getting energy from creatine whereas a marathoner wouldn't benefit.
