Hey, guys. So the thing is, I've never been great in terms of endurance while running, and I feel having knee surgery a little over a year ago definitely didn't help matters any.
The question is, are there ways/tips to improve running form, and endurance? I'm starting to get a bit of a gut, and I want to get rid of that.
Running, along with some calisthenics (push-ups, burpees, etc.) are really the easiest ways I have to work out, as the closest gym is ~40mins away, and I really don't own any equipment besides a doorway pull-up bar and an ab wheel.
I know diet has a lot to do with fat burning, and that's something I'm working on. What I really need are tips to help improve my running. Any help is greatly appreciated, guys.
Will be hard with your knee surgery unless it's 100% healed and you're mobile again.
As for your form? Depending on how long you run, run "loose"
Only move your arms vertical don't swing them horizontal while making sure they aren't strictly rigid.
Shake them when you need to in order to circulate your blood better ( this is if you're running like 10 miles daily )
Make sure you stretch the hell out of your IT bands, and hips prior to running.
Don't bobble your neck like a lot of novice runners do, keep it SLIGHTLY below looking straight ahead ( in real time if you're on a side walk look 5-6 side walk "blocks" ahead and keep your eyes around there.
Stretch
Stretch
Stretch
Stretch
If you want to lose your gut, I'd suggest sprinting and not distance running.
