Lol that's a joke of a test.
People who smoke a pack a day could run 1.5 miles in 12 minutes (10:30??) or whatever the time is.

Bullshit rofl. 1.5 miles in 12 minutes is an 8 minute mile. Not hard by standards of anyone who runs regularly, but you can't just get off your couch and run it.

who do you know that does isometric work for strength? concentric allows for high velocity work and eccentric allows for high force contraction. id rather see someone do weighted crunches. if i wanted high force isometric work id prescribe squats or deads, where there is a significant load that the abdominals have to brace against. if i want accessory work it will be concentric/eccentric work that actually targets the abdominals rather than using them to initiate ROM in a different muscle group

Weighted crunches are fine. Weighted situps work the whole abdominal region instead of just the upper abs. If you want solid isometric work, squats or DLs won't get it done--they're workouts that focus different muscle groups. Face it, you suck at doing situps.

I didn't say a fat lard could leave his couch and just run it.
I'm not a runner by any standards but I could do 1.5m in 12 minutes with ease.
