I usually rest a minute between sets, as I switch off each set with my gym partner.

Sometimes 2 minutes if I have to search for a different song on my phone. Nothing like a set getting ruined because a shitty song starts up.

I do love the mind game of someone barely touching the bar or your wrist so that your mind thinks it's easier to get the weight up. It's a game changer.

why do you have shitty songs on your device is my question

lol this is me too, my strength goes from like benching 165 all the way to benching 115 if i try to do 1 minute rests, how the fk u guys manage that? I usually do like 2 min rests O_O

better to lower weight and rest time, or keep rest time 90-120 secs and go with a heavier weight?

e/ this is probably one of those things that makes little difference, right?

To be honest I never really count how long my breaks are. Only when I'm doing heavy compound exercises ( < 3 reps) then I make sure I rest 5 minutes.

Apart from then, I just stare/do other things until I feel I have the energy to do a heavy set again.

Whenever I train with a partner they always tell me to hurry up and stop resting so long :L

60-90 on major compounds for hypertrophy. 45-60 on mostly isolation movements. This is just my opinion though. I don't think there is an exact answer.

That Pandora workout station to mix it up some.

Only have ~200 songs on my workout mix on my phone and I try not to listen to it every single day otherwise I'd get tired of it.

for long term, optimal hyp, probably anywhere from 45 secs to 2 mins. But it's still equivocal

:o such short breaks.

I better start timing my breaks.. Maybe I'm overestimating how long I actually rest.. xD
