they are worth it because if there isn't a good seal with the silicon tips, sound leaks and you dont hear the headphones as intended. they sound like trash if there isn't a good seal.
with the comply tips the memory foam always seals to the contour of your ear, so the sound doesn't leak even when i run a 10k and sweat and they sound fantastic.
if you spend 135 and an extra 20 for 5 pairs of tips (i got large on ebay), then thats like you are paying an extra 15% so that they sound 100% better
