yup and a pre existing heart condition which was made worse by all of that.

I keep my blood pressure and blood levels in check.

My heart probably will explode in my 40s though

here's what i know about coffee and caffeine. it's amazing in moderate portions (2-3 8oz cups aday), is loaded with antioxidants, and as far as i'm concerned downing a cup is #1 preworkout NA

but it is slightly acidic and a diuretic, so especially in dry winter months where a hot cuppa seems like the best thing for you, hydrate!

Gold mine:

caffeine on athletic performance

This is pretty much all true:

though there's not much epi/norepi signaling by caffeine unless taken in gross excess. Coffee has more via the beta carbolines (MAOIs) helping facilitate a longer action there

in general it really is important to differentiate between coffee and caffeine only as well. IIRC coffee also has chlorogenic acid & caffeic acid, that stimulates AMPK, which explains a lot of the effects on GLUT4 expression (apart from Ca2+ influx through ryanodine receptors). Luckily for the OP, it's the alpha 2 isoform that's upregulated so the canonical mTOR antagonism through TSC1/2 doesn't occur.

So basically in moderate consumption coffee increases brain function, motor skill performance, endurance performance, and taken post workout increases glycogen resynthesis
