I increaw the weight as soon as I can complete the target reps/sets for a given weight. 2 weeks ago I hit 3x8x165 on bench. I bumped it to 175 and got 1x8 and 2x6 the following week so I stayed at the same weight. I will bump the weight again when I complete the target.

I do the same for squats and deadlifts. I bump them by 10 lbs. I probably should bump bench by only 5 lbs. Bump the weight by a less amount the lighter you are doing. Like if you're doing 15 lbs for 3x8x15lb for t-raises, then bump to the next lightest weight. Usually 17.5 lbs.

Make sense?

Works for me anyways.

you missed the point of what i said

obviously I did, were you taking what I said as literal as in weight doesn't matter so don't use weight and making it a joke?

because it makes perfect grammatical sense to say weight doesn't matter and that NOT mean use 0 weight. It just means resistance, form, contraction, rom and progressive overload matters not the weight itself

I train on intensity, not that much for power on increasing weight. But eventually you gotta move up when many repetitions and good form allow it.

You can set goals and use different methods to achieve it.

For bench I used negative reps for a while and increased from 100lbs - 120 lbs (3x6 on both) in a matter of weeks while 100lbs was my previous max.
