so r u in or nah

One step closer. Most say the written test is the hardest part of the process. Guy that was beside me during the test, was taking it for the 8th time. So to make it on my first try is exciting. Top 200 out of an estimated 2,500 who took the test this session.

It's pass/fail. Just have to run the course in under 10 minutes 20 seconds. I'm only nervous because I can't even run yet on my ankle. Still recovering from an injury.

No offense, but how do you expect to save a life when your ankle is injured?

No offense this time as well, but I wish you a speedy recovery and many males on your shoulders.

It's a sprain injury. Only thing holding me back is my calf muscle. It went into atrophy from the 3 months it wasn't used at all. Working on getting it strong enough to engage properly when my foot strikes the ground as I run.

I can jump, do side to side agility drills, Leg press, deadlift, and calf raise 225 on barbell. So it's not like I'm handicapped. Just have to get it stronger in the next 2 months. I can jog for a little bit before it bothers me any. Just haven't tried full on sprints yet.

Are you talking about the graduating class pic? i'm not really sure i would call that militarized. I think its the standard look of a group who are completely a task like schooling of any sort. I've got pictures just like that from high school, college, EMT school, police academy, basic training, and all of the advanced training schools through the military.

Right on man! My city is doing their testing starting April 25th with the aptitude test.

Here they don't do the CPAT testing. They do different physical testing that is way more difficult. In fact, since it was brought up, no woman has ever passed the physical test here AFAIK.

On Jan 16th I wrote my haz mat awareness, haz mat operations, firefighter lvl 1 and firefighter lvl 2 tests through the OFM. Waiting to hear back about my test results is agony. If I passed em all it should be ezpk to get a job anywhere I Canada.

I'm jealous man. Rock that testing and get hired!

haha thats such a wrong statement

I know in most instances. I'm not divorcing hard work and preparation out of that statement. The point I was making is that when it comes to grading my resume (the only place I've fallen short in the past) it will help a ton since I also now have fire related experience (on volunteer department and graduated fire college with honours) with my other certifications, which will (assuming I passed all 4 tests) help bigtime if I have ff 1 ff 2 and haz mat shit as well.

When it comes to the written, physical, interviews, I always do well if I prepare, and I will.

That's all I meant.

LOL girl fire fighters.. what do you do when you need to pull people out of a burning building and all you got on your squad with you is females..

one of my friends is in a fire academy here..she works out more than most people i know (and that's saying something), so i would have no concern in trusting her to drag me out of a building haha...just have to add - dat ass
