I do not know the exact mecanism why it foams..
Foamy urine is most likely something you do not have to worry about, Im pretty sure every guy here (and girls!?) have some from time to time
Newly foaming urine or urine that foams 810x more than it used to and foams all the time might be due to excess protein in the urine due to a kidney problem (and absolutely unrelated to the ammount of proteins you ingest)
Im not sure what the best pratice is; but if you were to consult a doctor for this problem he may do nothing (to avoid over diagnosis)
Or he'd do a quick urine dipstick which he probably has in his cabinet or may do an urinalysis and go from there

Im a real medical student, still learning and nothing I say should be considered an official medical statement, however Im pretty careful in my comments and usualy I wont discuss anything Im not knowledgeable about or at least I'll mention Im not sure about my statement....not sure what makes you doubt that?
