I use what I call the scale method. When I want to gain weight I weight myself at night and try to increase it from day to day or week to week. I try to keep my proteins pretty high and gain slowly so I have stayed pretty lean. I've started training (bodyweight training) at 5'9'' 138 lbs in oct 2010 and I am currently weighting 183 lbs ~14% bodyfat.

Squat: 430 lbs (5 lbs PR) + 2x3x335 beltless
Bench: 2x 287.5 lbs + 5x2x272.5 lbs

Under recovered. Broke up with the girl so I've had bad sleep since last Thursday. Taking the day off (teaching) tomorrow to sleep and rest more. Swtiching my intensity deadlift to sumo dead and volume deadlift to conv dead.

it has been up and down for months...hopefully the extra time will help to motivate me with rest/nutrition.

Damn dude, that's a crazy technique when failing on a bench press set, letting it roll down like that off your body. You better be careful! No spotters around?
