doesnt matter

takes 3 days for muscles to fully recuperate after an intense workout

taking protein 30 minutes before or after wont change shit, just make sure its there

Man that's interesting, just hard to believe. I would think getting protein in right after an intense workout would be good...but I guess science says differently?

Hmm...

You already have it stored in your body that's fairly common sense. You would be fasted or half dead otherwise. Your body will draw on it, you are just storing more for later as you recuperate.

Roger that, I gotcha...just trying to make sense of it

Edit - So after a workout, just eat some carbs and call it a night? I don't essentially need to "give" my body something afterwards?

You don't necessarily have to eat anything, it won't be detrimental...but if you want to eat, go ahead. It just doesn't have a great effect either way.

its hard to believe that the metabolic machine that is our body which is the result of millions of years of evolution cannot adapt to muscular stress unless protein is immediately consumed afterwards?

guess thats why our ancestors were all skinny, they sometimes didnt eat for over a day and went full catabolic, lost all their gains, regressed into babies and became plants

I just got a 3lb thing of protein, my all time favorite: BSN Syntha-6 (amazing with milk, going to use water though)

Question, what is the best way to take this protein?  Directly after the workout right?  I'm not really trying to gain or lose weight, just trying to stay fit and get stronger.  Been at it for 6 months or so.

Thanks in advance

you take protein pre-work-out and a bit of carbs than protein+carbs after workout to recuperate and enable muscle recovery and expansion.
