I have to train for a fitness test for firefighting where one of the exercises is you have a 40lb weight vest on , 8lb ankle weights on each ankle and have to carry a 90lb hose up to the 4th floor and back down 3 times. It fucking destroys you. If you don't do it quick enough, you fail. I think you have about 3 minutes to do it. It's supposed to simulate going to the 10th floor and back down wearing all your bunker gear/SCBA and a hose on your shoulder.
Yeah its a crazy workout as far as metabolic conditioning. Everything is easy compared to that. My weight vest like flops and bounces off my abs so it's like I'm getting smacked in the stomach making it harder to breath Lol.
Doing it with a big awkward hose would be cool instead of perfectly hand fitting dumbbells . more practical/ functional I think. Excellent workout though
