Lmao 1 rep max useless in the real world?
Brb picking up a heavy log to save someone is useless
Brb picking up a medium sized log then putting it back down onto someone 8 times is a lit more useful in the real world right
you will never be in a situation where that is necessary, let's be honest. That is an absolutely idiotic scenario. That aside, you're not going to stand there and be like, hm is that log 500lbs or 600? because if it's 600 I can't lift that shit. You're just going to grab the god damned log and lift it, strength will do part and adrenaline will do the rest.
If you're in the gym working out, doing a 1RM is absolutely useless outside of wanting to track progress but there are better, safer ways of tracking it anyways. I'm not even people shouldn't do a 1RM or that I don't even do them, but the fact is, they're stupid and if we really get down to the reality of it.
What I'm pointing out is the hypocrisy or foolish logic that being able to do 26 reps at 275 lbs is worse for back or spine than doing a 1RM.
World strong men are beasts because they can lift absurd weight in a variety of different ways MANY times.

knowing it or not knowing it doesnt affect your actual 1RM, he says testing for it can be dangerous if done improperly
