iifym is bullshit,

brb training for a triathlon @ 170 lbs eating like 2000 calories a day and looking fat and soft as fuck.

(eating fairly crappy foods- still getting veggies in but rest is w.e)

IIFYM may be a good diet, but i hate how the people who do it FORCE it onto others.

Find something that works for you. If i want to eat brown rice and chicken 6 times a day, thats on me. I'm already negative about it, I dont need to hear negativity from others about it aswell.

/rage

The reason why it is forced so heavily on to people is because of the terrible widespread false knowledge that you have to eat brown rice and chicken 6 times a day and that is the only way.

The majority of people I know in my life are always talking about how they need to lose weight, so they need to start running or eating healthier. Like no, you just have to eat less and it doesn't really matter what it is. That is why people force the idea of iifym so much.

Reminds me of my grandpa telling my dad how he needs to flatten out his stomach some. He said running was the key and that runners almost always have a flat stomach.

I'm sure it has nothing to do with burning fat from extra burned calories and calories in vs calories out.
^ I should probably correct people more but I dislike blatantly telling them that they're wrong.

I suppose he would always correct whoever said something false?

For some people you just have to let it go and let them be lol.

Best to let people do what they want, less hassle. If they are searching for answers you can be a guide for them if you want.

Precisely. Without a doubt my grandpa would have taken my word for it. I give him health tips once in a while. But as much as I thought about how wrong it was, there was just no need to correct him. But I'm sure several people have been in these situations. Some will be the know it all and others will let it go.

(Usually the know it alls are the people who just became educated on the subject)... Lawl

why do you eat brown rice and chicken 6 times a day even tho you hate it. why would you torture yourself without any noticeable benefits?

the point of IIFYM is that everyone can have whatever diet they want.
