The split isn't all too different from one of my 5 day splits. However the trainings have to be longer. You STILL have to do your compounds and most exercises rather heavy if you want to keep your mass as you cut down, but you gotta add isolation work. Abs, obliques, pec deck, anything related to your delts, especially rear delts, hamstrings, etc. You gotta put an extra focus on things that need to pop out.

Can you elaborate? What's the reason for that? You're cutting so you aren't gonna be gaining any muscle so what will more volume on those parts do.. how could it make them pop out? I'll probably never try a contest because i just dont want to lol, but i'm just curious as to why etc

Using heavy weights as you cut down (not too heavy since you're lacking nutrients) will help reduce the amount of muscle mass you lose as you cut. Cutting for a stage is a drastic cut. It's not healthy. There IS muscle loss.

The added isolation is to take advantage of the fact that the areas that need the most definition (delts, hamstrings, obliques and abs, etc) can have as much chance as possible to be visible. The recent studies about it confirmed what alot of people already believed. If you keep the fat in an area warm/hot and work the muscles underneath, to an extent you can do minor spot-specific fat burns. And the lower the overall bodyfat, the more evident it becomes.

Yes.

I'd even say go up to 20 reps.

ya my friend said that too,
20 reps for the major isolations? or like maybe just 1 isolation exercise per muscle group.

my boss did a show , and did purely 4 second concentric / eccentric reps. so 9-10 second reps basically
he did it for 16 weeks

suggest some of that as well?

Nah, like I said in OP, concentric = always super fast. Varying tempo for eccentric is fine. But I'd say controlled eccentric (1.5-2 seconds) and going up to 20 reps, at a good rhythm, is better.

20 reps for abs, hamstrings (hell..even front squats after your heavy squats), etc. Biceps and such 12-15 is fine.

right on,
I'll need to work on a split I think.
I want maybe 3 day split that keeps me in the gym as much as possible during this cut

For the 3 day split, isnt the biceps and pecs muscles too close together and used to work on the sameday?
