It teaches self-discipline, which I'm lacking, and since I seem to have adapted well I enjoy the success of my trial.

I had a fillet of tilapia today. I'm not a big fish guy, so that was frustrating to choke down.

Season it to make it more enjoyable, just don't overdo it.

Do they freeze well? What's a good serving of fish with a meal?

Thanks for your help. What do  you recommend on the side? Lots of steamed vegetables? I'd prefer not to eat too many raw veggies :P

What about cheese, that's pretty fatty, so I should avoid it right?

Does anyone have any tips on packing lunches? I don't have microwave access, so it could be tricky.

you want a lot of fat on a low-carb diet, cheese is good for that.

I used very light vegetable oil, and I rubbed the fillet with a little bit of salt. I peppered it afterward. I usually never use salt when cooking, so I'll try to add a bit of that to the fish. I was really tempted just to put ketchup on it and be like NOM, but I overpowered my temptation.

So today I had a bagel for breakfast (before I started this).

Then after I started I snacked on an oz of almonds, then for lunch I ate a fillet of tilapia with steamed broccoli and cauliflower. Then I waited until dinner to eat again. I ate a generous cup of edamani beans (spelling?) with a cheese stick. I put a bit of butter on the beans, cause they were a bit tasteless. I also had 1.5~ cups of silk for some protein and fat. I also had a fish oil pill with dinner.

I'm a little hungry, I didn't eat many calories today, so I'll try to find other things to eat to fill in the carbs. I'll try to get some walking in tomorrow with some ab workouts, but I'm really busy this next week. The diet might not be so strict if I'm rushing around everywhere this week.

I bought some egg whites, fish oil, and almonds, not sure what else to get. This could be hard hehehe... Wish me luck and please more suggestions.

Oh cool, any cheeses to avoid? I don't really like cottage cheese, so that's bad.... Any tips on cheese snacking? I have string cheese, lots of shredded cheese, and some hunks of pepperjack? Are there any really good/bad cheeses to eat?

Don't tempt me! Heh, it wasn't my enjoyable meal, but I want to eat to live, not live to eat. At least I'm making the effort in my life now :P That's worth the cookie.

Alright, thanks. Is albacore canned tuna okay? Or does that have bad preservatives and additives?

Too much cheese is bad.
edit; a stick of cheese is like 70 calories or something, and that stick really wouldn't take your hunger away imo but i could be wrong

For food purposes

Oatmeal
Canned tuna
black beans
broccoli
chicken
potato
cottage cheese

cross out whatever you cant eat, and cottage cheese is bad trust me i was there, but peanut butter makes it eatable and you get used to it after a while.

oatmeal is okay? Awesome, that could be a good snack. I'll have to pick up a can of the regular instead of the sugared up brown packets though.

Broccoli good, because I'm going to steam that with some cheese, that will be good. I'm fine with black beans and the tuna, I'll have to do something different with tuna though so I'm not just nomming fishies. I thought potatoes were starchy and I wanted to stay away from that?

I'll try to get some cottage cheese, but I can't promise liking it! It's the texture that throws me off a lot :( Thanks for help! So I'm going to be eating pretty much the same thing a lot. Any good tips for non-rigorous exercise? I like walking/biking/crunches and such, but I don't really like aching the next day off some of the more crazy stuff.

E: And thanks, I dn8'd a bit.
