She says instead of using an IGG test or something (cost money), try the test yourself by excluding it for a period, then reintroducing it to see if there is a difference in the way I feel.

She also said no meats are really beneficial for blood type As. (Blood type O, beef is apparently highly beneficial which seems totally unfair as a type A lol - hoping you can debunk).

What are your thoughts on eating based on blood type diet?

Complete Quackery! I highly recommend that you take your business elsewhere. If she is still spewing that same tired old "blood type diet" BS, then you are definitely wasting your time. There have been literally hundreds of studies conducted on this topic by reputable organizations and universities, all of which lead to the findings that blood type had absolutely no correlation to what food items one would be sensitive to, allergic to, or have any benefits beyond macronutrition from.

Protein comes PRIMARILY from meat and meat derivatives. Eating plant based protein exclusively will result in incomplete protein synthesis and can increase estrogen production, also suppressing testosterone. You need meat or at very minimum, animal derived protein (such as whey).

Also, in terms of an allergy test, do yourself a favor and get one if you suspect something is wrong. Allergy testing is easy, inexpensive, and can make a WORLD if difference knowing what you should and should not expose yourself to.

Hello Raynor,

Please share what knowledge you have related to injuries. My girlfriends inner knee cartilage is damaged permanently due to a growth spurt and her hamstring tendon inflames easily due to wear & tear. Nonetheless she would like to continue training three times a week with at least 30 minutes of cardio and 30 minutes of strenght training. Can she work out her whole body without the discomfort of injuries? Last i let her do squats and 15 minutes of the stepper machine and that got her knee inflamed.

Hey there.

Is this diagnosis one that was given directly by a doctor? If so, what is she doing for the knee as of right now?

With regard to rebuilding and strengthening the knee, while minimizing inflammation, follow the general guidelines first:

Ice the area for 20-30 minutes, 3 times per day.
Take ibuprofen as needed if the pain increases (do not exceed 1,000mg in a day, and do not take more than 200-400mg per day on average - however follow your doctor's recommendations and label warnings beyond all else)
Lightly massage the area once a day (approx 10 minutes), preferably after a hot shower, and follow up with one of the icings.
Increase Omega 3 intake - 3x capsules with every meal (at least 5-6g per day).
Take a good support supplements like Universal Animal Flex and NOW! Astaxanthin.
Minimize sugar intake, increase protein intake, increase HDL fat intake, and keep gluten at a minimum (which tends to have an inflammatory effect in some individuals)
Use a good pain relief anti-inflammatory cream, such as Penetrex.

Now, if this diagnosis is confirmed (at least 2-3 opinions), there still may be hope. Cold Laser therapy has shown some promise in this area, and might be a viable solution here.

Secondly, with regard to workouts, she should be wrapping the knee with a good, high quality knee brace, and doing low impact activity for the lower body, such as leg press instead of squats, leg extension and leg curl machine instead of lunges, etc.

The stepper machine should NOT be used, but instead an elliptical would be preferred for cardio.

Immediately post workout, the area should be heated, massaged, and then iced (with penetrex or another similar product used)

hey raynor. since u are in the medical field and know about this, curious about your opinion.
i made doctor appointment finally to see orthopedic again for my shoulder. i got MRI results on a CD to show them.
but the doctor i thought was an orthopedic, i looked up and is actually specialized for pediatrics. but then she did a 1 year fellowship in orthopedics.
think she is qualified enough to read my MRI and help me with my shoulder issue? im sure she learned alot in 1 year fellowship.
but im a bit worried. i feel as though a doctor who specialized in orthopedics from the start would know alot more and be much better qualified to help me? they would then have 4 years in orthopedics residency and more knowledge?

thanks

Hey there.

For a 4-day-3-off upper and lower split - you will see results mostly in the way of muscle maintenance and a very slow but clean muscular bulk. This plan is not advised for people looking to make very large gains or to do a rapid and efficient cut. This is the "moderate" approach.

Monday - Upper Body - Bench Press (3 sets of 12-15 reps), Incline DB Flies (3 sets of 12-15 reps medium/ weight), Seated Military Press (3 sets of 10-15 reps, medium weight), Front/Lat DB Raises (alternate 2 sets of each, medium weight until failure), DB Shoulder Shrugs (2 sets for at least 15 reps medium weight good form), Lat Pulldowns (wide grip, medium weight for 8-12 reps 3 sets), Bent over BB rows (3 sets of 8-12 reps medium weight), Standing Olympic Bar Curls (3 sets 8-12 reps medium), Close-Grip Dips (3 sets 8-12 reps medium).

Tuesday - Lower Body - Squats (3 sets of 8-12 reps, medium/heavy weight), Leg Press (3 sets of 8-12 reps medium/heavy weight), Leg Extensions (2 sets of 8-12 reps medium/heavy weight), laying leg curls (2 sets of 8-12 reps medium/heavy weight), Standing calf raises (3 sets of 8-12 reps medium/heavy weight), seated or donkey calf raises ( 3 sets of 8-12 reps heavy weight), DB Lunges (at least 10 reps with each leg so 20 reps per set for a total of 5 sets with medium weight and good form).

Weds - Upper Body - Repeat Day 1

Thurs - Lower Body - Repeat Day 2

Fri - OFF (but cardio/swimming allowed)

Sat - REPEAT DAY 1

Sun - REPEAT DAY 2

Mon - REPEAT DAY 1

Tues - REPEAT DAY 2

Weds - OFF

You can also take 2 days off per week, and just do 4 days on - 2 days off then repeat if necessary.

Thanks buddy. I'll look up some of these exercises I'm not sure about and give it a go with my gym partner. Cheers! 🍻

She may be very talented, but in general, you would want to see a proper specialist for your shoulder, AKA a regular orthopedic surgeon.

Hi Ray -

I guess I have prehypertension. Was wondering if you had a general list of foods to avoid and foods that would help lower bp and/or ratios of macros or micros that I should aim for.

Still doing 5x5, no longer on keto. Male.

ok raynor, i finally saw orthopedic after my MRI that i had

i asked about the cream that you suggested and the doctor prescribed me diclofenac, aka volteran gel 1%. not sure if this prescription is any better or around the same?
i only asked the doctor because i didnt want to take any more pills due to my stomach and acid issues.

she also diagnosed it at scapular dyskinesis and RC tendonitis. and suggested 4 to 6 weeks physical therapy.

she said to come back after to do a checkup and see how things are going. but she also looked at my back with my shirt off and had me move my arms over my head and slowly lower them

she said she noticed my left should has noticeably less muscular definition than my right shoulder. and its my left shoulder thats injured.

also she thinks my scapula is not moving properly.

ill see how physical therapy goes. but for some reason i think its something worse. i dont know. i hope the tendonitis will go away with physical therapy. because i have not been lifting any weights for around 1 year now, and yet the pain is still here. even if my scapula isnt moving properly, i havnt been using it much... i dont know why im still in so much pain then

What's your opinion on this "Afterburn Effect"

Here's a quick video that explains it

ton of crap...usual BS to make people buy products/plans. I also happen to love how obviously he is distending his stomach for the "before" picture.

what a tool.

stick to good hard cutting cycles with good nutrition and supplementation making sure to exercise as much as possible and you will shred up fine.

another thing, lol, my bad so many questions.

so i just got the voleran gel, aka diclofenac sodium.
it seems to help a bit. maybe placebo. my shoulder still hurts a bit, like deep in the center, but there does seem to be less pain
like before the pain on scale of 1 to 10 would be a 7, constant pain
a bit after applying the gel its around a 4.

but when reading the papers that came with the gel, it says approved for hands, knees, and elbows.
but then says may not be safe for spine, neck, and some other body parts....

i told doctor my upper shoulder near near my neck behind my head and such are in pain.
any chance this really isnt safe to apply there? ive heard the spin carries stuff throughout the body, and since the gel is absorbed through the skin, if i apply it behind my head on my neck and shoulder, how bad can this really be?

im just a bit worried
