Hello, so last night I went out to the bar, nothing special a few shots and a few beers in, my chest began to hurt/feel tight. It wasn't exactly pain but it was definitely noticeable if that makes sense. About 2-3 minutes later I started to get really hot and practically fainted by the time my friend and I got outside I was stumbling and ended up sitting on the ground drinking a water and feeling better. Why I'm confused is that I ate breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I had well over a gallon of water throughout the day making me think I was not dehydrated, and I've never fainted before aside from basically blacking out coming down from tripping on shrooms, which I definitely didn't do last night. I was definitely not too drunk, but felt like for that 2-3 ish minutes that I was since it was like I blacked out when I started to get really hot and looked pale. What could have caused it? I drink quite often and was honestly not even close to being drunk yet, but whatever it was made me feel loopy from that point on, kind of like I was really caught off guard by everything and just not all there. Appreciate any advice you can give me, thank you in advance.
Could be several things. An acute alcohol allergy can cause similar effects, along with medication contraindications (if you take anything). Furthermore, you could also have a particular sensitivity to a specific kind of alcohol (beer can cause this in some people due to reactions from the yeast/hops/grain etc). Plain alcohols such as vodka with a no-sugar mixer (like club soda) tend to be the benchmark that allow you to really see if you have a true alcohol sensitivity or not.
It can also be environmental wherever you were (smoke, other allergens, etc).
Obviously, I do not recommend drinking any alcohol as it is. HOWEVER, if you do not wish to modify this behavioral/dietary choice, then you should start by testing yourself with plain vodka, after eating sufficiently, in an outdoor environment or at home. If you still experience the same effects, you probably have developed a late onset alcohol sensitivity or acute allergy.
