Pic I found from a few months ago. Was at the peak of my bulk

6'0" 220 pounds

Down to about 195 now. Gonna cut down another 10 pounds or so and call it a success. Just started up law school tho so taking a break from the gym as well. Will acclimate back into it once I get my schedule down.

New school gym sucks balls, but just found out there is a crossfit gym a few blocks from my apt. Gonna see if I can join just to use their equipment for my powerlifting. Will do that + lots of volume on my shoulders/tri's this upcoming year.

Doesnt seem expensive at all compared to u.s....

It depends on the standard of living you go for bro... What I posted is a typical student life style, the average norwegian lifestyle e.g. families is much, much more.

You say it doesn't sound more expensive than the U.S. but let me give you the prices of a few items:

can of coke in the supermarket: $3.00
large McDonalds Big Mac menu: $17.50
Large pizza & 2 cokes: $60
An American muscle car e.g. Corvette, Chevy, Mustang (roughly $150,000-250,000)
30 minute taxi drive at night: $170
cinema ticket + popcorn meal: $40
bottle of whiskey, inexpensive: $70
VW Golf GTI: $85,000
price of petrol/'gas' is close to $10/gallon.
pack of cigarettes (20 pieces): $16

Now how much do each of those cost in the US?

those are examples of stuff that costs shit loads in this country. healthy food is relatively cheap, and apartments are quite cheap too since its a pretty big country compared to population (half the population of NYC in place the size of an average US state!) so if you're an alcoholic smoker who eats junk food and loves american muscle cars you're going to have a really, REALLY bad time here.

i see. Yeah all of those things seem quite a bit more expensive. Where I live the cost of living is 70% of the U.S. average, so everything is super cheaper here.

That's crazy... No wonder the average wage is so high you get less for your money compared to here. I mean you earn 2x more but pay 3x more lol

Isn't the income tax in Norway relatively high? Some where around 50%?

On a global basis it might be high, but compared to other European countries (like Waw pointed out; Denmark, Sweden, Belgium, Austria, Germany, France etc where the income tax is +/- half your income) the income tax is fairly moderate.

a $70,000 income will pay 36% tax while a $90,000 income will pay roughly 38% tax.

for just over one third your income you get:

* free healthcare
* free education up to Master degree level
* a government benefit system giving you a minimum wage if you are unfit or too lazy to actually work
* free dental care til age 18
* 5-10 fully paid sick days and in some careers you get up to 30; my friend uses all 30 every year to party during weekends and still get paid
* full payment in whatever career if you get an injury that prohibits you from working after you started a career in e.g. painting, plumber, electrician etc
* 2 years paid maternity leave, couple months paid paternity leave
* roughly 2/3 of your net income during your career you get in return as a retirement bonus. if you earned say, $45,000/year post tax you'll get $30,000/year until the day you die.
+ all the stuff that every country gets like infrastructure, military, roads, etc although we have the shittiest roads in all of Europe.
