Hey there -

I have to correct a few things.

First of all, going as far down as you can in a squat (the term is ass to grass or ass to ground...but truthfully it is more like hamstrings to calves) is the best way to develop your legs both for strength, size, and definition. It does in fact take some pressure off the knees if you go all the way down...stopping at 90 degrees puts the center axis of the weight directly on the knee joint. This, over time, will cause tremendous damage to the surrounding cartilage, ligaments, tendons, and even soft tissue.

Now, for the purposes of a power lifting meet - going down only to 90 degrees is obviously the better option, as you can technically lift a lot more weight this way. However, the point I am making and explaining is that for reps at the gym, when you normally train squats....always go down as far as possible. For your 1 rep max at a powerlifting meet, 90 degrees is fine.

as for leaning forward...this is true...however, if you lean TOO far forward, it can have the same negative effect as not leaning forward at all. The key is to have a moderate stance with the weight cocked forward without displacing the weight unevenly across your back and legs.

Lastly...no need for all of you to argue on the thread. This thread is for free helpful advice to all of you who request it. I just ask that you guys take your arguments and potential hijacks to a PM instead of the thread so that others who are in need of help do not have to wade through the constant bickering. Thank you =)

yeah sorry about the arguing, boxa likes to troll my posts and say something to instigate me on every one of them

and for squats thats pretty much what i do too, the thing that helps me is to try and protrude my chest almost like im trying to be cocky but it makes me lean forward a decent amount but not too far

yeah , first thing in the morning..
as per body for life competition .. the book says for those whose main goal is to lose fat , they must workout on an empty stomach - first thing in the morning , thats why Raynor asked me to take bcaa's before i workout so i don't lose a lot of muscle while exercising..

screw that i would never lift weights on an empty stomach even if i took 20 g of amino acids

are you sure you arent confusing working out with cardio?
i know cardio is a good thing to do for fat burn early in the morning, but weight lifting sounds like a bad idea

Don't do that o.o
Cardio on an empty stomach + BCAAs = win
Lifting on an empty stomach = bad

i just calculated the rates from bodybuilding along with shipping , it comes upto the same price with the discount i get from this stuff..

ok heres the plan.. now that i'm stocked ^^

on weight training days (which is done on empty stomach - first thing in the morning) - take 4 pills of bcaa , workout , and then gold standard 100% whey protein isolate from optimum nutrition.. and then carry on with the remaining day with 3 myoplex originals and 3 small balanced meals)
cardio days (also on empty stomach - die fat) take 4 pills of bcaa - workout , then carry on with the day just as the weight training days)
(CLA , betagen, nutrex lipo 6 black , muscle armor - as label)

i'll lower my calorie intake cos im havin post workout shake , ill make my bed time snack as low fat cottage cheese and fat free yoghurt?

bedtime snack is COTTAGE CHEESE ONLY....no yogurt!

you need to have a whey isolate shake prior to weight training with some carbs....here are some pre-workout examples:

1 shake + 1 banana

1 cup oatmeal + 3 egg whites + 2 whole eggs

1 serving of any lean meat + 1 serving of complex carbs

as for pre-cardio...empty stomach + bcaa's

ALWAYS drink it slowly no matter what. This promotes proper digestion.
