Powelifters need full RoM to meet contest requirements. Hyp trainees do not. This is the sole exercise where the biomechanic disadvantage of the given joint at full contraction offers too much strain in return for its merit.
Not that I'm under any impression a person who squats once every blue moon will see any sort of notable sarcoplasmic gain, but that is a tale for another time.
I see. is this something that you've changed your stance on? I thought before you had said that the strain was minimal and it was still worth it to go deep. I could however be making that completely up.
Is the strain something that will build up to an injury over time, or is it something that just has a chance of injuring you at some given time?
