I do some weed eating at work, and between the 3.5 hours yesterday and the 4 hours today my arm is really sore. Usually it doesnt bother me much at all but i think something is wrong with the machine, seems like its been vibrating harder than normal lately.

Anyway like I said my right arm is super sore from halfway up my bicep down throughy elbow and half of my forearm. I don't know if something is sprained or torn or what. I can still use my arm it's just pretty sore.

Do I need to avoid heavy arm workouts for a couple days? Like skip bench press day and isolated DB lifts? Kind of a stupid question but I dont want to NOT lift, i need someone else to say it.

Sweet! Now does the magnitude of work (sets x reps x weight) done have an influence on recovery (both muscles and the nervous system)? Could that be why the I've heard that larger muscles take longer to recover (You can overload more in the back squat than say the bench press)?

And is the reason why few people do biceps/triceps three times a week because it is often indirectly exercised through compound lifts? (Rows, Bench, Press, etc)

Btw thank you for answering my questions. I've been reading the NSCA and preparing myself for the CSCS certification and I just randomly have questions after reading the book.

Yes. The more you train, in terms of weight, sets, reps, etc. all will impact the duration of recovery.

Partially correct with regard to training accessories. In general, accessories are not as important for strength as major muscle groups. They also are indeed worked during compound lifts. However, for pure aesthetics, 2x per week for accessories is sufficient.

I've been doing really really well on this keto diet, but unfortunately it's my birthday on the 17th, and my friends are taking me out, i'm gonna have to drink, is there any way to make this possible? 17th is a wednesday, and my carb day is a sat =S

Just switch it up and take your carb day on Weds. You can then take another carb day on saturday, and then go a full week with no carb day (until the following saturday).

This will force you to have two carb days in one week, however this can be offset by increasing your level of activity on thursday. You will need about 30-45 mins of fasted cardio upon waking, along with a 1 hour workout, then another 15-20 mins of cardio after, first thing in the morning to break down the glycogen stores.

Hey Raynor,

About to run out of my ON Micro Creatine.

I do see results supplementing with Creatine, however, I find that ON's Micronized Creatine does not blend well. It falls to the bottom of my blender bottle with my shakes...

Any recommendations? I was thinking Beast Creature's Creatine

I take 2x SuperHD as my pre-workout.

That's very unusual. I do not have this problem, and have used ON Micronized creatine monohydrate for many years.

Check out NOW! creatine monohydrate

Doesn't sound like a sprain or tear. Most likely a result of having to increase the use of stabilizing muscles during the activity, due to the increased vibrations from the machine (microtears).

Just give yourself some rest, and it should go away without issue. Make sure to drink plenty of water, and get plenty of sleep. I would avoid arm routines (or anything that engages the arms) for several days until the soreness subsides.

perfect! tyvm!

also, i'm not sure if everyone feels this way, but i'm sure it's not normal, i had a month off work, and i felt great waking up after 8 hours of sleep with melatonin i jumped out of bed ready to go etc, but now that i'm back at work my sleep has gotten really bad, i've been getting bags around my eyes all day, even though i'm sleeping the same amount, my job is very easy (i deal cards at a casino) unfortunately the clientèle are all asian, and are all smokers constantly coughing on me, it's like working in a smoke pit, due to that i've got lots of phlegm all the time, i don't drink, smoke, or do drugs etc, but i still feel unhealthy..

could it be my nasal passage is too blocked from the phlegm that's not allowing me a proper night's rest? is there anything i can do for this? i only have this job for 3 more months, but if it's really detrimental to my health i might have to get a new job.

Breathing in large amounts of second hand smoke is most certainly a very serious health concern.

If you have allergies or sinus issues, this will lead to bad things.

If your sinuses are obstructed during sleep, you will have less restful sleep, preventing REM sleep, resulting in feeling poorly rested.

The solutions?

1. Get a new job
2. NeilMed Sinus Rinse (do it immediately before and after work) - this may or may not work.
3. Darken your room, decrease the temperature, raise your pillows slightly, and make sure to wash your sheets every 5-7 days. This can help your body achieve better sleep by itself, which might be enough to compensate for the 2nd hand smoke issues.

Has your diet changed? How is your exercise routine? Do you take any prescription meds? Drugs? etc?
