I'm also trying to find some foods that are easy to eat/get and that contains lots of potassium, so far I got at home:

Orange juice
Almonds
Carrots
V8 low sodium
Coffee

Anything else I could get that would do an easy snack? :P

Bananas and Potatoes have a lot of potassium. Along with White Beans, Apricots (dried is easier), Avocados, and Yogurt.

Yes. Even if your goal is fat loss, and your stomach is already large, you will need to train abs in order to build a strong solid core. A strong core is the key to strength in many exercises, and can also help you lose fat by simply having more lean mass on your body.

ty brotha, I'm sure you've posed before but can you link me to a good ab routine I can do after some workouts... specifically targeting fat loss if there is such a thing.

Why do some foods make you nauseous if you eat them everyday?

Like for me, some foods I can eat everyday no problems.. fruits, shakes, salads.. etc chocolate, nut butters...

But then some foods, if I incorperate them to my diet everyday.. I not only lose interest in them, but they physically make me sick when I eat them.

like for me, eggs, avocado, etc... if I try to eat everyday., it make me naeseous.. and it sucks because they are so healthy. What is it about certain foods that react and make the body react to them like that? While other foods dont.

I can have eggs mixed with bacon everyday no problem.. but just eating eggs plainly cant.. or hard boiled, I cant.
Same with avfocado.. good for few days but then I just cant eat them for a long while.

chicken everyday would make me sick, unless its fried, then I can eat everyday..

Dont understand the mechanism behind this,.

Well, there IS a mechanism...it's partially mental, and partially physical.

The mental aspect has to do with foods you truly enjoy - if you TRULY enjoy them, you will "always" have room for them.

As far as the physical aspect, sometimes foods that are rich in a certain macro, such as rich in fats like avocados, or rich in protein like chicken, can upset the stomach when consumed in one sitting, especially when prepared in a way that is not palatable.

There are a few solutions for this. First of all, try different methods of preparing the particular food items in question.

Secondly, consider the possibility of a food allergy or sensitivity. Try taking digestive enzyme supplements and see if that improves your condition.

If nothing helps, listen to your body and discontinue eating the foods that make you feel that way. You will realize that your body does have a wisdom unto itself. You might find that red meat and fish are better protein than chicken for you, and that avocados should be replaced by olive oil (for example).

I noticed alot of routines concentrate on certain areas on different days. The one I'm attempting is a 12 week thing and it has legs and arms every day.

Question is, is it (in your experience) more beneficial to have them on separate days, or is it ok to work everything 3-4 days a week?

I love what your doing here, it's for sure a big help, thank you!

Hello there.

OK after what you've told me, I have the feeling that you are dealing with chronic allergies, with frequent exposure to unknown allergens.

At this point, you need to do the following:

1. See an allergist immediately and get a complete allergy panel completed. When you have the results, let me know what you are allergic to.
2. After the results are in, follow the below suggestions to eliminate allergens from your environment as much as possible:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Allergy reduction guide -

1. Purchase a good air purifier such as the Alen A350 and run it on max 24/7 in your room. http://www.amazon.com/Alen-A350-Purifier-Floor-Standing/dp/B000R50KJE
2. Change your Home A/C Filters regularly with 3M Ultra Allergen filters (Purple label and make sure you match the correct size) once a month. http://www.amazon.com/3M-Filtrete-6-Pack-Allergen-Reduction/dp/B00066FKIU
3. Irrigate your sinuses with Sinus Cleansing Squeeze Bottle + Solution 1x per day (morning or night) http://www.walgreens.com/store/c/neilmed-sinus-rinse-original-sinus-kit/ID=prod2598807-product  (only use for the first 2 weeks, then use it once/twice a week or AS NEEDED)
4. Change out the carpet in your bedroom with wood/laminate flooring and swiffer it at least once per week.
5. Get a set of new bedsheet covers such as the Allergy Armor Ultra and put it over your mattress, boxspring, and pillows. http://www.achooallergy.com/allergy-armor-ultra-bedding-packages.asp
6. Keep your room very clean and free of excess dust or pet dander.
7. Use Dust Mite killing detergent http://www.onlineallergyrelief.com/laundry/laundry.html (also make sure to wash your sheets and quilt in HOT water ONCE a week)
8. Try using Claritin one a day
9. Follow the below supplement guide:

A. Vitamin D - NOW! Vitamin D-3 (5000 iu) - take 1x per day
B. Immune Support - NOW! Immune Renew and Immune Support (take 1x of each per day)
C. Vitamin C - NOW! C-1000 Caps (take 1x, 3 times per day)
D. Multivitamin - NOW! Adam

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After the above is completed, and the allergy test results are in, let me know and we will go from there.

Given the fact that it's "allergy season" where you live, and there is construction going on where you work, it sounds very much like you are having chronic exposure to allergens.

Your lungs aren't to blame, but rather the microscopic particles getting stuck inside of them and causing irritation and inflammation.

quick summary: i have a long lasting cough (2-3 months), no other symptoms.
update: i went to the original doc monday. symbicort had an effect on me, but not very significant. he ordered a bronchial challenge with methacholine and echocardiogram (since S1 was a bit louder?). he suggested waiting 2 days after getting off symbicort.

i went to an allergist today. i'm on the high deductable insurance plan (1k for air test, 1k for food test). his thinks it unlikely i have asthma, but recommended i go ahead with the asthma test first. he doesn't think my cough is allergy related, so he suggested i dont take the allergy test until i hit my deductable so i dont have to pay 1k for a test that he doesn't think will help me. he thinks i'll end up going to a lung specialist, and i'll hit my deductible soon enough. he suggested waiting 2 full weeks (instead of days) before taking the bronchial challenege, so i'm scheduling that for 2 weeks from now.

the cough is much worse when i have air blowing at me (AC/fan), and also with physical activity.

I mentioned to my original doctor that my poop has also been soft lately, but he doesn't think it's related to the cough. for the past 2ish years i've been eating 1-2 fibre bar every day, but the past few months i haven't been. i had diarrhea for almost a week, so i quit taking the bars. when i dont eat much fibre/carbs, it's just soft. if i drink fruit juice or anything then it's too watery. i haven't tried 0 carbs yet.

i de-prioritized my cough (yeah yeah....) and haven't gotten around to doing the allergy stuff you recommended yet. i just re-prioritized it monday since i wanna do outdoors stuff now. i'm gonna start ordering them tomorrow. though, i don't sleep on a bed. i put a blanket on a carpet and use a pillow with the cover you suggested. i vacuum weekly and change pillow sheets (but not the cover) every 2 days, wash my blanket weekly.

Completely different topic. I used to be close with a friend, but we haven't spoken in 4 years (her choice). we just started talking again. she has since been diagnosed as bipolar when she was around 19 (23 now). she is taking medication now. i've been reading up on it. it's likely we'll stop talking again in the future (her choice).

two questions:
1) is the disease influencing her mind when she's NOT in a manic/depressive cycle? when we met again, her personality is the same as i've always known. i'm wondering if the person i've always known is a result of the disease or if it's naturally who she is
2) at the moment i want to be close but not too attached to her since i know she'll leave one day. would you recommend NOT befriending someone's who is bipolar?

It really depends on what your goals are. Assuming that you are wanting to GAIN muscle, the most efficient way is to absolutely break down a specific area, then give it time to heal and grow. If you are training a muscle group every single day, you are likely to hit the area too much and result in either injury, reduced muscle size, or diminished gains. The only way to grow is with PLENTY of rest, and sufficient nutrition.

That being said, a person COULD theoretically train every muscle group every day, but you would also need a tremendous amount of sleep and nutrition to sustain that type of training. In plain terms, it simply isn't efficient.

Hello.

Your lung condition is MOST likely due to allergens and chronic inflammation, in the form of asthma, from being constantly exposed to something your body doesn't react well with. For these symptoms to just develop like they did, is not a random act. There is a reason behind it, and the solution is not to treat the symptoms and ignore the cause of the problem. That is a VERY expensive allergy test. Are there any local clinics who will do it for less?

Also, with regard to the other issue - TOO much fiber can cause loose stool. However, too little fiber would not have that effect. It seems like you have a digestive issue going on at the same time. Whether or not it's related is unknown at this time...however, I generally believe the body is fairly symbiotic with regards to conditions. If two or more seemingly "unrelated" conditions appear at generally the same time, they all end up usually resolving themselves when the root cause of the problem is solved.

I still stand by the original idea of allergy testing being necessary. I can't imagine a clinic charging you $2,000 for a full battery of allergy tests. That is absolutely outrageous, but speaks volumes of our current medical system. Call around and see if any local clinics will do it for less, even as a cash customer without insurance.
