thats not what i see in the pic. elevate your arch and shove those knees out a bit more cause im pretty sure your feet are much more externally rotated than they should be

e: if you want such a wide stance that is

I would tend to disagree, but I'll leave the physiology to Lightman. Besides, who the fuck can even squat with their toes pointed straight ahead? As long as your knees are over your feet, what difference does it make? He's not caving at the knees.

when you point toes out to such a degree your arch drops and all of a sudden the lateral joint angle of the ankle changes such that your knees are now slightly buckled without necessarily seeming like it. maybe his knees dont appear buckled from the waist up but relative to the tarsals they are

I agree that toes should not be pointed out drastically, but they can be to some degree. I'm not sure if we're agreeing or disagreeing here. Lmao. I get what you're saying and they very may well be, as this is a hard angle to tell.

I'll have to video from a front angle. Would you suggest different angle of the feet or more narrow of a stance or both? Regardless will try a few different variations as I have been feeling more stress on the hips as of late and need to practice in my weaker stances after my deload

@opti

Get elevated heels and work on getting lower. You're better off a deeper squat than a notsosureaboutthedepth squat when comes the meet day.

Some meet are really picky. Just look at my older brother getting red lighted for depth. Imo it was deep enough but it shows are they can refuse close attempts.

42 seconds
