I'm looking for some tips/advice.

I'm really skinny and am currently trying to work out and gain muscle weight, but I've noticed that I really don't have the appetite eat much. More often than not, I force myself to eat (until the point where I'm starting to feel my gag reflex acting up). Do you have any advice for eating more calories per day? Thanks !

Secondly, in order to eat more, you will need to expand your stomach. To do this properly, I would highly advise drinking a lot of your calories. If you have no problem with lactose, eat your regular diet, and add a full gallon of milk per day (GOMAD diet). If you have lactose intolerance issues, you can go the weight gainer route, and make 2-3 weight gainer shakes per day, and drink these in addition to your regular meals. Try Cytosport cytogainer or Optimum Pro Complex gainer. Even NOW! Gainer is a good product, but doesn't taste as good as the other two.

hey there.

the diet should be perfect for you to start with.

also, yes, whey protein is the best selection for overall amino profile and price.

Awesome!

Ty man, I'm going for 3 months of trial for that and check my progress.Im sure it will end up good.

After that I plan to just continue having sports in my life.

Thanks for your great help

Do you have any tips to something I can do instead of a standing military press?

I definitely tried too much weight the first time I did it and I tweaked my right shoulder, it's in pain and usually hurts the worst when I wake up.
I don't think I tore anything because I still have good motion in it just sometimes at certain angles it hurts.
I'm hoping it just needs some time to rest, but until then I can't really do the standing press, the shoulder just won't go.

All the other lifts aside from bench I don't really feel it so i've got no worries about those.

To replace it with a similar motion, you can try seated DB presses and keep your wrists angled to a position of comfort.

What is your take on doing challenges such as CT fletchers iron marathon once a month to shock the muscles?

It all depends. I generally have not seen any particular rapid gains from "shocking" the body with something unusual and generally contradictory to your normal training.

Some people have sworn that they are given better ongoing results by periodically doing such things.

In general, the physiology of "shocking" the body is not fully understood.

My philosophy is to continue an aggressive routine, and change it when results start to diminish. With respect to strength training, cardio and even cross training, you are likely to see gains when you take a deload period and start back up vs a random "shock" as stated in the form of a marathon, iron man, etc.\

Either way you can try it and see what happens...report your results to me and we can make a log of it :)

hey raylads, got my hand stomped on by some fatty in rugby boots. My 5th metacarpal is fractured and i cant make a fist.

its extremely painful when bumped or if i move my pinky finger. strangely enough pulling movements are not hindered, (i can do pullups, overhand deadlifts)

are there any chest exercises you could recommend? i can do bitch flys without pain, no access to peck deck. I have BB, DB, cables at my disposal

i'm starting to see black squiggly lines (3-4 months after lasik). im gonna call the doc tomorrow. from what i see on google, it's normal and nothing to be worried about. is there anything i can do to my computer monitors to calm it down? dunno if changing the brightness or leaving the light on/off in the apt or using a black vs white background or buying an LCD/LED/IPS/etc would impact it any.

i stare at a computer monitor at work all day, and i use it most of the time when i'm at home.

Hey there.

I'm assuming the finger is set and braced, correct?

With this in mind, please be extremely careful to avoid contacting that finger with anything, as further injury can arise with very little impact.

You can do board presses with a chest press machine (flat hands, palms only), palm pushups, low cable crossovers (thumb hook), laying cable flies (thumb hook), 3-4 finger DB presses (lighter weight, extremely good form).

I would be extremely hesitant to do anything high impact for fear of further injury. Finger fractures, while fairly common, can become very difficult to heal if the injury is exacerbated in any way.

A few things to try would be light filtering glasses, adjusting the gamma on the monitor, upgrading to a higher htz monitor (higher refresh rate - at least 120-144 htz), or keeping the relative light from the monitor approximately equal with ambient light (even with yellow tones if possible, try FLUX - a software program).

My specialty is not eyes, unfortunately, so this is the extent of my suggestions.

Good luck!
