What's up RAY
I still have trouble feeling the squeeze in my chest when pressing, as I feel it all in my shoulders, for both inclined & flat, or BB and DB. I was thinking about the pre-exhausting technique, but I don't know if I should be pre-exhausting the shoulders or the chest in order to try to get a better squeeze in the chest and try to leave the shoulders out of the story.
Thanks!
The major component here would be FORM.
Start with very light weight and focus on the form. Adjust your hands (distance), wrists, and torso (with regard to where the bar is lowered), until you find your own unique "sweet spot". Once you find the area that gives you the most pump in the chest, gradually increase the weight in that exact format, and go from there. 99 times out of 100, this solves the issue.
Pre-exhaustion with pushups usually also helps. Crank out 5 sets of 20-30 reps of pushups prior to hitting chest and see if that engages the muscles enough to start feeling a pump during bench and so forth.
