Been reading a bit about carb cycling and thinking about trying it, what are your thoughts on it?
and if i were to try it, how should my low carb/high carbs be mon-sun and how much carbs each day

Some people have great success with this, but mostly people with lower sensitivty to carbs don't seen much blood sugar spiking.

If you were going to do it, there are two schools of thought...

Carbs on workout days only

or Carbs during specific times of the day only.

As a result, you have the following choices:

Carbs during the first half of the feed for the day, or carbs for the second half of the feed for the day (depending on when you work out). The goal here would be to carb up only POST workout, if fat loss is the goal. If mass building is the goal, you would carb up all day prior to working out, and have the last serving of carbs immediately post workout.

The other way to do it, is to consume carbs normally on workout days, and simply go zero/low carbs on non-workout days.

Generally, I feel that either one of these COULD potentially work, but it greatly varies based on your body type.

You can try either one or both and let me know how they go. In general, however, I've found that cycling is not the most efficient choice for MOST people.

6'4 and on top of my routine I play about 5-7 hours of volleyball a week.

You can go up to 4,000 cals on workout days, and 3,000-3,200 cals on non-workout days (completely inactive days).

Casein or cottage cheese for pre-bed snack on a cut?

The only cottage cheese I can get is :

2g fat
860mg sodium
19g carbohydrates
32g prots

Thats might be too much carbs/sodium, thats why i'm wondering about casein! But since I already take 2.5scoop of whey per day, thats might be too much powder

Thank you

It's completely up to you with regards to which one you'd go with. If you can afford the extra carbs, the cottage cheese is fine. If you need fewer carbs, the casein would be fine.

Also question about 6 day split
Is it best to knock out legs then shoulders or alternate them , same with bis/chest and back/tri

This is completely preference based on your body and mind. I personally like to do ONE muscle group, finish it, then move to the next.

Oh last question I think, realized I should prob aim for 2500 cals.
U told me 200g protein 150g cals but that was when u said if 1700 cals was my goal.

Also peanut butter vs almond butter
The nutrition label is basically the same from what I saw, is there something I'm missing?

Would a slice of whole grain bread + half banana + almond butter be good for a pre workout meal? Also should this meal be like 30 mins before I workout?

Fruit in morning with oatmeal, what fruits should I go for? I might just do half a fruit to watch carbs.
Btw I asked a trainer at my gym just to get his thoughts and he said something about bananas take longer to breakdown or something so would be better to eat a pear or apple.

He also told me I'm basically overthinking my diet too much lol and that my current diet is way better then most people he talks to, even said I can enjoy a cheat meal once a week. Another thing he told me is I don't have to worry much about my fats/ carbs because it's not like I'm eating bad fats or bad carbs.

Btw I just wanted a opinion from someone else, however I favor yours cuz I'm down 22 lbs in 2 months with your help, sry for so many questions I just don't want to fail you!

what are your thoughts on Garcina Cambogia? my coworker just told me about it today. supposed to help you lose weight and has an anti-depressant effect too. she can't find the fruit in the local stores, so she wants to buy the extract in pills.

if you are striving for 2,500 cals, just make sure you are getting 250g of protein and split the rest between fat and carbs.

almond butter and peanut butter...both are acceptable for your purposes.

That pre-workout meal would be fine...I would advise not eating anything within an hour of working out.

As far as fruits go, any of them are really fine, but apples/pears tend to have more fiber. Berries and melon tend to have less total calories/sugar. Bananas are high in sugar, but also have high potassium.

In general it's a fairly harmless fruit which has been used for "weight loss." DO not confuse it with fat loss. It typically has a mild laxative like effect which can be attributed to the weight loss factor.
