I bought multivitamins because Furious Pete strongly recommends those (lol), and was wondering if I should pop a pill everyday or not.

Also I may start taking creatine this summer. I don't know anything about it, some people recommend only monohydrate, other people say it's the worst. If you have an article about it I'm open minded to read

I recommend multivitamins, particularly NOW! Adam

As far as creatine, I would recommend Optimum Nutrition Micronized Creatine Monohydrate - take 5g 4x per day (20g per day) for 1 week, then tone down to 5g per day every day after that. Mix with water or grape juice (water if you're cutting, or your protein shake - and grape juice if you are bulking and don't mind the extra calories).

You seem to suggest a more natural take when it comes to training (i.e. when I asked about whether to get weightlifting shoes for squats and you suggested barefoot), but how come you recommend taking pills to obtain vitamin intake? Why don't you suggest incorporating it from your diet.? Serious question

Hey there.

Well this is a VERY broad topic and can be found throughout the internet. However, I would advise if you are really interested in Nutrition, go to school for it. A B.S. in Nutrition would be an excellent choice to start with. Also you would be given access to scholarly libraries full of videos, documents, periodicals, and other information regarding nutrition.

thanks a lot, good idea

Hello Raynor, first time posting on this thread. What is your view on drinking energy drinks? Such as Monster, Red Bull, etc. And would you recommend it for those who exercise on a daily basis?

Two reasons.

1. In order to get proper and beneficial levels of a certain vitamin, ie: vitamin d, it would be far too difficult to obtain from diet, especially in those with a restrictive diet, and keep macros/calories/nutrition the same. In addition, some people can not get the 30-45 minutes of direct sunlight per day that provides the vitamin d. Furthermore, other supplements, such as creatine, antioxidants, and even things like cranberry extract are far too difficult to incorporate into a diet with any reasonability.

Vitamins are a way to make things easier for everyone and guarantee that you are getting the MAXIMUM benefit of those micros.

Going natural at the gym isn't because I'm a purist, it's because going barefoot on legs days has been shown to increase stabilizer muscle engagement, and thus improve your overall leg strength and definition, while also engaging your core further.

Avoid energy drinks as they contain lots of artificial sweetener or sugar + artificial colors/flavors, etc.

You can achieve the same feeling with black coffee. 2 cups is usually enough to get a decent caffeine boost.

If you need a LOT more than that, you can try a capsule, like GAT Jet Fuel, which does not contain any of the garbage of an energy drink.

Also, energy drinks are relatively expensive $2-$4 each. Multiply that by 5x per week and you're spending $40-$80 a month on just energy drinks!
