Why do I always see those big ass body builders doing half reps on everything?  i.e. dips, bench press, shoulder press.  Can you explain raynor

Certainly. Those "half-reps" are focusing on one part of a muscle group, vs. an entire group of muscles.

IE: bench press from the bottom of the rep, until 90 degrees is focusing mostly on chest, whereas 90 degrees to the top is mostly triceps. Focusing on the lower rep keeps constant strain on the chest and thus maximizes microtears of the pectorals, while minimizing tricep fatigue.

This is extremely helpful when spot training areas for muscle growth (mostly for aesthetics)

rayndaddy i dun goofd and dun myself a mischief etc

ruptured my main tendons in my shoulder and torn it (not all the way through)

any healing tips? doctor said it could be 1-6 months recovery (wtf) ? im awaiting to see a specialist and to see if it requires surgery, if it doesnt - what should i do? its been 3 days and its still extremely painful

im currently taking these heavy 1 a day anti inflam pills

Yes, it can take quite a while for recovery of torn tendons, depending on the extent of the tear.

anti-inflammatory meds, Ice (30 mins on 30 mins off, 4-6x per day), elevation (basically try not to lay down flat, keep the shoulder higher than the heart), and very light mobility (do not stretch, keep the area only lightly mobile with very basic shoulder movements that do not create severe pain).

Let me know what the specialist says and if surgery is required. Obviously, DON'T LIFT!

edit:

I almost forgot, make sure you continuously take in at least 250g / protein per day to aid in recovery of the area, even though you are not training. In addition, 8-10 hours of sleep per night would be optimal now. Water intake must be high as well, but you already knew that ;)

Sadly, there hasn't been much "progress" as I've been on a steady maintenance routine for the last year or so due to medical school. I'm almost all finished, and will begin residency next year.

When I have some time to resume a full-time training regimen, hopefully between the end of medical school, and residency, I'll take some updated pics.

Thank you for your support! =)

What's the best way to approach over-cheating? (as in I ate way too much on one day and don't want to hurt my cut too badly).

Im currently lifting twice a day, 4-5 days a week.

What my football coach requires me to do is

Tuesday morning- Squat and RDLs I would say are the main lifts
Wednesday morning- Bench and Power Cleans
Thursday morning- Squats and a few other lifts

I am currrently doing along with the ^^ football lifts
Monday morn- chest/bi night shoulders/tri
tuesday night- back
wednesday night- arms/traps/forearms
thursday night- lats mainly
Friday- same as monday

my schedule varies as i am in sports.

I was wondering if you think this is okay for twice a day, or if u think u have maybe a better routine for me
for the times that i dont have football workouts

No matter what im lifting twice a day u cant change my mind on that, I just wanna know if theres a better routine i can go by
