Hey Ray,

Silly question lol ..

Can you build muscle while in a caloric deflict ?

My answer is no,  I do not see how it is possible While being in a deflict .

It is generally not possible if your body is in a deficit. You are correct.

Whats your opinion on peanut butter? Is the peanut fat really that good if it is, why? I try to eat 2-3 spoons of it everyday for the extra calories. Its 99.4% peanuts and 0.6% salt.

Peanut butter is fine. The macros are good. The fat content is good.

Hi there! I'm5'9 140lbs and cannot gain weight no matter what I do. I've been doing stronglifts 5x5 for about 3 months now with little to no results. Recently I've changed my diet to healthier more protein filled foods(tons of meats beans and quinoa) and feel like i constantly eat all day trying to get the requires calories. I feel bloated and tired all day long everyday from constantly stuffing myself. I've even started doing a shot of extra virgin olive oil daily to help get extra calories and healthy fats yet I havn't gained a pound. I work at a restuarant and usually eat a small meal before i go to work and 2 decent sized meals before I leave work. Munch on almonds and cashews when i get home and make a huge meal before bed.i've been grinding up flax seeds to add to certain foods as I was recommended that may help. I feel like I;m missing something here as im not seeing any results and it's been a significant amount of time ive been trying for this. any suggestions or tips as im really struggling with this and it's really starting to get to me.

I can't eat eggs or any dairy what would you recommend to replace eggs with diet wise? okay i lied 1 more. after a successful weight gain do most people require to follow this diet for the rest of their lives to keep it on? Thanks a whole bunch for this entire thread, I find myself constantly browsing this thread and have been for a long while. tons of good information.

1. Replace the eggs and dairy with applicable protein. IE: Protein shake, Chicken, Fish, Steak, etc. You could also try protein bars such as the VPX Zero Impact bars.

2. You will need to eat like a king forever. However, the Digestive Enzyme supplements will help.

thanks for the nice words!
