Whatever makes you happy M40-31. Cross fit will help with power and endurance but perhaps throwing in a single "normal" weightlifting session would help to keep as much mass as possible .

As for the drinking and partying... You're not competing anytime soon right? Then enjoy yoself B)

As for the "Normal" weightlifting, i still do a ton of Low set high weight workouts. Usually in the PM after cardiovascular workouts. Last week i just sat in the corner of a crossfit class with my coach working on back and front squat form.

I threw my back out last year and it's still giving my problems. Managed to snag 245x2 front squat and 335x2 back squat ( Deeper than i used to with regular working out).

And well there is a summer throwdown at the V02 gym in grand praire canada that im suppose to compete in but i won't be able to do the RX weights.. I'm not there yet.

What's the RX weights?

If you're still doing your squats and DL I guess you can maintain a nice balanced body since iirc you do a lot of pull ups/dips in cross fit right? Then it's all good.

What happened to your back?

Required weights for a lot of the workouts are ridiculous. 185+ for snatch and jerks which i can't get just yet.. Not for reps anyways.

We do a ton of pull ups and dips, but i do more muscle ups now than anything which is just a combination. Most workouts that involve 10 or less pullups per set i do all strict. Feels easier for me.

I threw my back out deadlifting because i didn't know what i was doing. I was doing too much weight too fast and didn't let me back rest.

Thank fuck my crossfit coach used to be a power lifter / has his powerlifting certificate. He spotted so much shit wrong with my form instantly.

The first thing he told me was " Not bad, but if you keep lifting like that you'll throw your back out."

Well it's good to know you'll keep you on track I guess :)

And yeah I think that almost all of us have at one point done something stupid and fucked up something. Hopefully most of us have learnt from it too.
