What's your take on BCAA's? Should I be getting this as a supplement, and if so, when to take them etc?

Also, anything special I should be looking for when buying BCAA's?

if i did 1 day of strength training exercises and went heavy, would that suffice? cause i can't do boxing and 3 x lifting my boxing involves some random lifting days and it will only counter productive..

It all depends. 1 day of strength training is certainly not enough to shore up any kind of decent strength or muscular gains.

5 mins warmup cardio
2-3 minutes rest
One set of just the bar for around 15 reps
1 minute rest
one set of the working weight you usually use for 2-3 good reps
2-3 minutes rest
1RM set

I recommend Optimum Nutrition BCAA caps.

Take 2-3g pre/post and every 45 mins during exercise for maximum benefit. Protein shakes contain BCAA's and can be used in their place if you take a shake pre/post workout. BCAA caps are mostly used for cutting when you are calorie restricted.

A few garbage ingredients....but not that bad. Keep searching for a better brand made with olive oil and only natural ingredients. Alexia and Cascadian farms are two brands that I personally know to be good in the area of frozen sweet potato and regular potato fries.

What's the actual benefits of BCAA's? Like, what does it do to your body?

When cutting, your body can be either on a complete fast, or a caloric deficit. These will cause the body to start metabolizing fat and even lean tissue for energy. To prevent lean tissue catabolism, you can use BCAA's which provide the body with enough of the core aminos to sustain and spare lean tissue, while not providng a significant amount of calories or disrupting a fast.

BCAA's are the only essential amino acids that are metabolized in the muscles rather than the liver. As such, they are critical when your body is calorie restricted or being fasted especially pre/post/intra workout.
