Hi, i'm a 16 year old 5'9 140lb pinner with a gym membership and am interested in cardio. recently i've been doing 15 mins on a treadmill, random workout machines and then doing it all over again. first of all, is there any limit on how much cardio i can do? since technically i could just run, take a break, and run again over and over all day right? also, any general tips you can give me(specific workouts i should do)? thanks!

Hi Raynor. I recently started going to the gym to tone up but my financial status has changed for the time being ( ive noticed in the last 3 weeks ive lost most of the muscle ive gained in the last 7-8weeks )
Its frustrating me because i feel im going back to my old ways ( Lazy, sports orintated but not a gym person before i started 2 months ago)
Back on subject i have been told that doing a Pressup routine is a cheap (obv free ) workout i can do and see a bit of improvements.

My friend sent me this workout can you tell me any changes that need to happen or put in some of your opinions towards this please ?
Anything is def considered and i will strive to be able to do this until i start work ( 2weeks from now ) so in roughly 3 weeks i will be able to afford gym / better eating patterns + healther habits.
I def feel im being lazy ( atm im only running every 2nd day and only being able to run for about 15 minutes then walking for another 45 minutes ) i know its a mental thing to push past this but ive never been a runner.
I am 5'9 but weigh in around 200pounds. so def alot of improvement's can be made but i feel once the gym comes back into my life i will see maximum results once again in a few months

This is a rough layout of it :
I cannot move onto the next week until i can do the sets + the first amount of pushups are the BARE minimum to finish a set

Quote
Week 1

The Goal

Complete at least 13 push-ups non-stop, after sets of 11,15,9 and 9 with breaks of 120 seconds.

Week 2

The Goal

Complete at least 20 push-ups non-stop, after sets of 16,17,14 and 14 with breaks of 120 seconds.

Week 3

The Goal

Complete at least 28 push-ups non-stop, after sets of 22,30,20 and 20 with breaks of 120 seconds.

Week 4

The Goal

Complete at least 40 push-ups non-stop, after sets of 29,33,29 and 29 with breaks of 120 seconds.

Week 5

The Goal

Complete at least 50 push-ups non-stop, after sets of 20,20,24,24,20,20 and 22 with breaks of 120 seconds.

Week 6

The Goal

Complete at least 60 push-ups non-stop, after sets of 26,26,33,33,26,26,22 and 22 with breaks of 120 seconds.

what is your take on Silk Pure brand of Unsweetened Almond milk? it's the only one i see in walmart. perhaps you have another brand you'd recommend instead?

Ingredients: All Natural Almondmilk (Filtered Water, Almonds), Calcium Carbonate, Sea Salt, Locust Bean Gum, Sunflower Lecithin, Gellan Gum, Natural Flavor, d-alpha-Tocopherol (Natural Vitamin E), Zinc Gluconate, Vitamin A Palmitate, Riboflavin (B2), Vitamin B12, Vitamin D2.

One of the youtube chefs (Leanbodylifestyle) always uses it instead of milk when baking/cooking so i wanna give it a try.

i've got a link to his most recent faq in my siggy

Almond milk, while tasting good, is virtually all carbs and no protein. I don't recommend it. However if you want to try it go ahead, The ingredients are fine.

Another question regarding the strength program you have me on.

For the dips, are they 5 reps or 8 reps?

8 reps for dips, although you CAN do 5x5 for dips if you have the proper equipment (chains for weight plates).

4 day upper/lower split for maintenance and moderation

Use that plan for around 4-5 months, then I will provide you another plan. Don't bother with excessive cardio...there really isn't a point.
