Do you know, what is the point of 'having a cold' ?

Why do you get a running nose? What does it have to do with being exposed to low temperatures/lack of sleep etc.

:O ?

When the immune system is compromised, either from lack of sleep, lack of proper nutrition, too many free radicals, excessive allergens, excessive stress, or some kind of disease - your body is highly susceptible to becoming infected with viruses and bacteria.

Your body fighting off the invading virus/bacteria is what causes the "cold"

The sinus discharge and swelling is all part of the body trying to rid itself of the invader(s). However at times, the body's own self defense mechanism works against itself, like with HIV/AIDS.

Without going into too much detail, I'll just say this - get plenty of sleep, eat healthy, take your vitamins, get 20-30 mins of sun every day, reduce stress, and avoid exposure to sick people, and also avoid allergens and you should be good to go ;)

Not bad :)

Thought it would be a defense mechanism indeed, but I just couldn't think of a way in which this could be helpful

1. Always wrap your knees with some good quality knee wraps

2. Stop squatting and move to leg press, lunges, extenions, and leg curls only (in addition to calf raises of course).

3. Ice the knees, and sleep with your legs elevated after leg training days.

4. Continue drinking plenty of water each day (at least 1 gal)

Hope all is going well with your life Raynor. Still in med school? Anyways..to my question

I just had my abdominoplasty..when I get cleared for exercise. Do know of a program that is pretty low volume, so I don't overdo it right after my surgery.

also recently when i have been doing more weight on the bench press i started to get pain in my left shoulder. Is this normal when increasing how much you lift? Also should i stretch before?

Half a gallon is NOT enough, even on bad days. 1 gal minimum.

Secondly, how can you be sure its the bone and not the ligaments or tendons?

Thirdly, you might need to wear wrist wraps when lifting to keep the wrist properly in-line.

If you are working it too much, you will notice constant and persistent pain as well as swelling and overall discomfort.

Pushups are fine, but keep your hands neutral (the way they naturally fall).

I AM SICK OF PISSING! :P

Does drinking a gallon really help that much?

I am not 100% sure that it is the bone, but that is just what it feels like. When I was up to 20 lbs, it felt like my forearm bone was about to snap, that is how painful it was. I have noticed that the wrist is in pain no matter what though. I have iced it a ton today though, going for a 4th time before I go to bed.

Today I did 30 sets of each curl. The regular/hammer/reverse (90 total with an 8 lb dumbbell) + 30 wall push ups + 56 pushups (Couldn't finish the last set of 15) + 60 wrist curls (30 going up and 30 going back. I believe it was a 3 lb dumbbell) Does that seem like too much? I really am trying as hard as I can to get this back to normal, but I am afraid of pushing it too much and having to start all over again. At the moment I don't notice any swelling.

Hey there.
I changed up my plan as my friend decided to come visit me when I'm heading up to the US and she decided we should run a half Marathon together.. It's going to be at about 7,000 feet above sea level (4,000 more than where I'm living/training).

Anyhow, onto the question -
By chance you have a weekly training routine on how to train for a half Marathon?
I did a long run today to judge where I am and ended up at 6.96 miles at a 9:46/mile pace.. I have a little under 2 months to train for it.. Any help is appreciated.
