also could someone please defne muscle catabolism :)

Hey there -

This is a better question for google...as its just a definition....however i will do a brief explanation of anabolic vs catabolic for anyone else that might be confused.

Anabolic - Chemical reactions in the body that combine simple molecules to make complex structures (basically the building up of muscle and lean tissue)

Catabolic - Chemical reactions in the body that break down complex molecules into simple molecules into glycogen or fat.

You want to avoid catabolism at all costs. To do this, try a few very easy steps.

1. Eat every 2 hours

2. Take in at least 1.5g protein / lb of bodyweight

3. take BCAA's before, during, and after intense exercise

4. Get at least 1 hour of physical activity 6 days a week

5. Get at least 8 hours of sleep a night

6. Take at least 5g L-glutamine with your post-workout shake

7. Take multivitamins/minerals 2x a day, and make sure you are eating adequate nutrition

8. Take antioxidants post-workout

9. Never work out to the point where you are breathing so hard that you can not say a full sentence without gasping for air (this is called anaerobic training - which is essentially pure catabolism of the muscles)

10. Do at least 3 sets of each of these exercises per week - Deadlifts, Clean and Jerks, Squats (all for optimal HGH production in the body - which has an anti-catabolic reaction)

Hi, first question from me.

Having a bit of trouble bulking, still putting on weight but very slowly, as i have quite an active lifestyle and i was wondering what would be the best foods to eat while bulking and also what foods are great to eat on the go (school, work, etc)

just wondering about number 9 and what is wrong with doing anaerobic training? especially seeing as im wanting to become a boxer not a body builder
what are some of the effects of catabolism of muscles? is cramping one of them?

anaerobic training will cause catabolism which yields the breakdown of muscle tissue. You want to avoid breaking down muscle. Even if you are training to be a boxer, stick to aerobic training. It's okay to occasionally push your body over the edge for one or two minutes...but never exceed that - the long term effects are devastating to lean tissue.

Catabolism can yield dozens of side effects - cramping is definitely one of them.

If you throw in 2 cytogainer shakes a day into your diet, you will start to see very rapid changes, and successfully start to bulk much faster. (take one in the morning and one post-workout)

scivation products are overpriced for what they contain.

as far as xtend...just get optimum BCAA capsules and avoid the BS
