12 stone is 168 lbs, so that would mean that if you're bulking, you would need around 300g of carbs a day. In regard to protein, you would need around 300g as well...and fats should be around 60g.

As far as building muscle without carbs, yes it is possible, but only on ketosis. It's very difficult however, and should not be attempted unless there is really good reason to.

Carbs create glycogen which act in a way that provides the muscles with energy when not in ketosis.

Going 7-8 hours without a meal, what does your body fuel on? what effect does this have short term and long term with gains/results and their general for someone who is active with interval training during the long periods without food?

Depends.

If you are in ketosis, it uses body fat.

If you are not, it uses glycogen stored up. If your glycogen is depleted, it uses body fat and to a lesser degree lean mass to fulfill the peptide requirements.

If you are bulking, it would be advisable to not go that long without eating on workout days unless you replenish glycogen sufficiently post workout.

My brother and I have been going to the gym for 2 months so far

we've been doing this workout, I found it on BB.com

Workout A:
3x5 Squat
3x5 Bench
3x5 DL (was originally 1x5, but that didnt seem like enough)

Workout B:
3x5 Squat
3x5 Standing press
3x5 DL (brother cannot do cleans, he isnt flexible enough yet)

We are only able to go 3 or 4 days a week, as our work schedules don't work well together

So what I'm looking for is a workout plan, that going will fit into 3 days a week that works as many groups as possible, and 8 rep sets instead of 5

Any help would be great

It sounds like you would prefer a hypertrophy plan.

Try this one:

Instead of doing each workout 2x per week, just do them once a week. I'd advise training every other day if possible.

In regards to pre-race electrolytes and glycogen, Gatorade is hard to beat. It has sufficient sugar and electrolytes for pre-race. I would advise about 24 oz of gatorade with 1 banana and a 20g protein shake prior to the race. On your 2 hour break, I would suggest another 20g protein shake and another 20oz gatorade and another banana. Post race, you can have another 20 oz gatorade, 1 banana, and 20g protein shake.

This will be the cheapest and most efficient way of doing things for you right now.

Hey Raynor, I have a 2 minute pushup test at school next friday I believe, I'm currently at 63 pushups in 2 minutes, I want to try to get in one workout or maybe 2 between now and then to hopefully beat my last test as significantly as possible which was 59, any tips for how I should go about these pushup specific workouts? Should I just do 2 minutes of pushups like the test itself or should I do multiple sets?

I know the prices of meat vary from place to place, but Since i will be eating on a budget, I was wondering if there was some type of meat or protein source that is excellent price to quantitiy ratio. maybe some sort of chicken meat, beef, or something I dont know about now.

I know tuna is a good source and so are other alternate sources like peanutbutter, but I want some meat. Whats the cheapest type of quality meat that I can buy?

Unfortunately one week in advance is not really enough time to improve your pushups. The only thing I could suggest is for today for you to do as many reps of pushups as possible into 5 separate sets spread out by an hour each time.

So ...each hour, do a failure set of pushups.

On the day of the test, wear an under armour or other compression style shirt (this helps). Make sure you drink plenty of water and get enough sleep. You should be able to bang out a couple more without incident.

Well besides EGGS which are the cheapest food per gram...

you also have frozen chicken breasts (costco, sams, or BJs), and frozen ground sirloin patties.
